Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This policy explains what information KnektLab collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers the KnektLab website and the KnektLab app.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account and contact details. Your name, email address and organization when you sign up, join our waitlist or contact us.
- Practice sessions. What you say and type during coaching sessions, lessons and simulations, including voice audio when you practise by speaking.
- Messages. What you send us through the contact form or by email.
- Payment details. Handled by our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card number.
Information we create from your use
- Your Communication Passport and Communication Intelligence Profile (CIP). Scores, progress and badges built from your practice sessions.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data. Pages viewed, buttons clicked, browser type and general location derived from your IP address.
- Cookies. Described under "Cookies and measurement" below.
How we use information
- To provide coaching, lessons, feedback and your Communication Passport.
- To create and maintain your account, and to take payment for paid plans.
- To answer your questions and provide support.
- To email you about early access and our launch, plus occasional speaking tips, if you joined our waitlist and ticked the box agreeing to this. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand how people find and use KnektLab, and to improve it.
- To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Voice and practice data
Speaking is central to KnektLab. When you practise by voice, your audio is processed so the coach can respond and so feedback can be given on your delivery. You can also complete sessions by typing.
Your practice data is used to give you coaching and to build your own Passport. It is yours: it is not shared with your employer, school or team unless you are on a plan where that sharing is part of the service and you have been told so.
Who we share information with
- Service providers who help us run KnektLab, such as hosting, customer relationship management (where enquiries and waitlist sign-ups are kept), payment processing, voice processing and error monitoring. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
- Your organization, if you use KnektLab through a Business, Enterprise or Education plan, to the extent described to you when you joined.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
- A successor, if KnektLab is involved in a merger or sale, subject to this policy.
Cookies and measurement
We use a small number of cookies to understand how people find and use KnektLab.
Cookies we set
kl_vid(1 year). A random ID for your browser. It lets us count visits without knowing who you are.kl_ft(90 days). How you first reached us: the campaign link or ad you clicked, the page you landed on and the site you came from.kl_ref(60 days). The code of the KnektLab partner who referred you, if any, so they can be credited.kl_consent(1 year). Your choice about advertising cookies.
These cookies are ours. They are shared between the KnektLab website and the KnektLab app so that a visit and a later sign-up can be connected.
Our own measurement. We record page views and clicks on key buttons, linked to the random ID above. This information goes only to KnektLab. It does not include your name, your email address or anything you type into a form, and it runs whether or not you accept advertising cookies.
Advertising partners. If we run advertising and you choose "Accept" on our cookie notice, we also load measurement code from Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn. It tells those companies that a visit or sign-up followed one of our ads. This code does not load unless you accept.
Changing your choice. When advertising cookies are in use, "Cookie settings" appears at the bottom of every page so you can accept or reject them at any time. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings.
How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as your account is open and for a period afterwards where we need it for legal, tax or security reasons. Your Communication Passport is designed to stay with you over time, so practice history is kept while your account is active unless you ask us to delete it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- see the personal information we hold about you;
- correct it;
- delete it, or close your account;
- receive a copy in a portable format;
- object to or limit certain uses;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the time the law requires.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
KnektLab is not directed to young children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them without appropriate permission.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we make a material change we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you directly.
